A party thrown by Madonna – that’s got to be magic!

Nicole Kidman was manning the door and helping to take guests’ coats and shawls.
Sharon Stone was chowing down on onion bhajis, while Cameron Diaz was mopping up the vegetarian curry with naan bread.
There was a definite Slumdog Millionaire theme at the late-night, post-Oscar party Madonna threw with Demi Moore at the mansion owned by Madge’s manager, Guy Oseary.
Spread out in the kitchen were traditional Indian dishes including chicken tikka masala and various biriyanis.
There were other goodies, too. One guest even jokingly (I hope) asked for a deep-fried Mars bar. I gather he had once spent a drunken night in Glasgow and claimed to have tasted the Scottish delicacy.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was the DJ and MC. When best supporting actress Oscar winner Penelope Cruz sashayed in, he announced: ‘Penel-o-p-e Cruuuz is in the house!’
Most people party-hopped from the Vanity Fair bash and Elton John’s charity event to end up at Madge’s, where the tennis courts had been covered over and topped with a marquee. Sofas and chairs were provided for the weary to rest themselves on.
And there were plenty of mints in little bowls, for those who didn’t want early morning curry breath.

Madonna, Jesus and the Kabbalah Kids

Madonna and rumored boyfriend Jesus Luz take the kids — David Banda, 3, and Lourdes Leon, 12 — for Saturday service at The Kabbalah Center in New York City.
Page Six reports that the Material Mom’s ex-husband Guy Ritchie has been referring to Madonna as an “it” since their divorce.

In response to the report, Madonna’s rep Liz Rosenberg says, “It hasn’t been in a bad mood since the divorce was finalized.”

“It” Girl Madonna Tired of “It” From Guy

“It” happens when you get divorced. Apparently, a lot of it. The gossip hounds at Page Six point out that Guy Ritchie has been derisively referring to Madonna as an “it” since before they were divorced.

Ritchie reportedly often told English tabloids things like “Oh, It’s in a bad mood today,” and “We can’t make It angry.”

Of course, it is a two-way street. When asked about Guy’s comments, Madonna’s rep Liz Rosenberg told Page Six: “It hasn’t been in a bad mood since the divorce was finalized.” And so it goes.

U.S. skipper Davey Johnson misses A-Rod — because of Madonna

NEW YORK (AP) — Manager Davey Johnson had a material reason for hoping Alex Rodriguez would be on his U.S. team at the World Baseball Classic: Madonna.

The New York Yankees star played for the United States at the inaugural tournament three years ago, but chose to be with the Dominican Republic for this year’s event.

“The only thing is I was upset about, Alex not, you know, being on my club,” Johnson said Thursday, “I’m Madonna’s fan. I was hoping she’d show up.”

Rodriguez and Madonna were linked in tabloid reports last year as being very friendly.

Cyndi Lauper Applauds Madonna’s Tadpoling

At “Defying Inequality: the Broadway Concert for Equal Rights,” the other night, nubile young New York intern Ross Urken asked Cyndi Lauper what she thought about Madonna’s post-divorce flings with youthful boy toys like A-Rod and Jesus Luz, and Cyndi, who takes equal rights extremely seriously, set him straight. “What’s your issue?” she demanded. “You know how many old geezers do you see with young women. What’s the double standard? Who cares? You know, they’re both adults. Who cares? What’s good…Source: Daily Intel

MARIO TESTINO – TESTINO KICKED MADONNA INTO TOUCH ON PHOTO SHOOT

Famed photographer MARIO TESTINO got physical to create the iconic image of MADONNA on her RAY OF LIGHT record cover – he kicked her into position.
The celebrity snapper worked with the Material Girl star to come up with an image for her now famous 1998 album cover sleeve.
But the photo shoot wasn’t an easy one – with Testino having to physically tackle the notoriously tough singer to convince her to keep posing.
He says, “At 2pm she (Madonna) said, ‘OK, I’m tired. We’re done.’ And I said, ‘But I don’t have the pictures yet.’ She said, ‘You’re working for me and I say we’re done.’ I said, ‘No, we carry on.’
“The picture she used on the cover came after that. She didn’t intimidate me, you see. I thought, I have to push my luck here, so I started kicking her like this, with my foot. She was like, ‘Hey, what are you doing?’ And I was, like, move here, move here,’ and suddenly this created an intimacy. When these people come across someone who treats them as an equal, it puts them at ease.”

Why Gwyneth Loves Madonna

Opposites do attract.

Take homebody mom Gwyneth Paltrow and the ever controversial Madonna. They’re best pals, and in a new interview with OK!, Gwyn explains why.

“She’s been through everything. And she’s a real survivor,” the Oscar winner said at a charity event in Los Angeles Wednesday night. “Every problem that I’ve had, she’s had ten problems worse that dwarf my problems.”

The two stars have been close buds for a decade, with Paltrow publicly supporting Madonna through her divorce from Guy Ritchie, and rumors of her romance with then-married baseball star Alex Rodriguez.

“She’s a very interested, caring woman,” Gwyneth said. “She’s pretty great. She’s Madonna and she comes with all this stuff but she’s pretty incredible.”

She’s just not that into you: Break-up survival strategies from Madonna

Newly single Madonna looked radiant at an Oscars party and Jo Wood has blossomed since Ronnie left. Here we look at celeb break-up survival strategies and how they can help you..

Madonna, 50

The Split: Madonna and Guy Ritchie announced the end of their eight-year marriage in October last year.

Madonna petitioned for divorce on the grounds of Ritchie’s “unreasonable behaviour”. The couple were said to have endured a string of bitter rows over faith, money, adoption plans and whether to live in England or the US. Things quickly turned nasty and a public mud-slinging session ensued, with Madonna branding 40-year-old Guy “emotionally retarded” – while friends of the film director said he complained sleeping with her was like “cuddling up to a piece of gristle”.

Her moving-on strategies:

Pamper yourself

Madonna looked remarkably fresh-faced at the Vanity Fair Oscar party last Sunday (above).

Her youthful complexion is thought to be the result of a super-intensive facial, as days earlier she was spotted with telltale post-treatment red skin.

Why it works: “Pampering yourself so you look and feel your best is a great confidence booster,” says relationship counsellor Denise Knowles.

How to do it: You don’t have to spend a fortune. Have a pampering sesion at home or see if your local salon has training days where supervised junior staff practise on customers for a reduced fee.

Get flirty

Madonna has been spotted on a string of dates with toyboy Brazilian model Jesus Luz, 22, after meeting him at a raunchy photoshoot. The couple reportedly made a very public display of their affection at a pre-Oscars party in LA.

Why it works: “Dating won’t help you get over a previous relationship,” Denise says, “but once you’re over the split, rediscovering the opposite sex can help you move on and feel good about yourself again.”

How to do it: Hit the town with some girlfriends and enjoy some harmless flirting, but be sure to keep things light to avoid starting a rebound relationship.

How Did Madonna Get That Face?

Mirror, mirror on the wall: who’s the fairest over-50 pop star of them all?

If the photos of her at Vanity Fair’s post-Oscar party Sunday are to be believed, it’s none other than Madonna. The newly single queen of reinvention looked radiant on the red carpet, with supple skin and nary a wrinkle.

According to her publicist, Liz Rosenberg, Madonna’s glow is nothing new.

“Madonna has always had gorgeous skin,” Rosenberg said in a statement to ABCNews.com. “It didn’t just develop on Oscar night.”

But Madonna’s Oscar night face was far different from the one she sported two days before, when she shielded her salmon pink, shiny skin from photographers.

It also looked years younger than a photo of Madonna taken years ago. According to cosmetic surgery experts, the before/after images are proof the pop star’s fabulous façade is not the work of Mother Nature alone.

“It looks like she had a sapphire abrasion or a vibra facial. These are procedures in which the skin is exfoliated and a serum is applied,” said Dr. Suzan Obagi, director of the University of Pittsburgh’s Cosmetic Surgery and Skin Health Center.

With sapphire abrasion, a tool coated with sapphire crystals aggressively rubs the skin, removing remnants of dead cells. The technique can also be done with diamond crystals.

“Usually patients will leave the office looking red and shiny because a layer of skin has been removed,” Obagi explained. “It doesn’t look like anything more aggressive — she wouldn’t have been healed and able to put on makeup by the next day.”

Dr. Bruce Katz, director of Mt. Sinai School of Medicine’s Juva Skin and Laser Clinic, argued that lasers had a hand in Madonna’s fresh face.

“It’s very likely she’s had a new laser treatment called fractional resurfacing. It tightens the skin, takes away wrinkles, and tightens pores,” he said. “Her skin looks great — no sunspots, it’s supple, not tight, so it doesn’t have that pulled look, which is indicative of a facial treatment as opposed to surgery.”
