Ms. Love proved to be a full cup of well-intentioned kookiness last night at amFAR’s Inspiration Gala benefit at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles.

The Hole rocker was the evening’s surprise performer, screeching out singing covers of Madonna’s “Like a Prayer” and Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance.” Love may have forgotten some of the lyrics, but no matter. Her guitar player was there to remind her of the words. And truth be told, we kinda dig Love’s take on the songs. We think it may be time for her to put together an album of covers.

But we digress.

Court ended her performance, which included a few F-bombs and at least one nip-slip, by announcing that she wanted no more drama in her life. “Please help!” she said. “All of you…Help me. I don’t want to be controversial anymore.”

Later on, Love was overheard complaining to various people that her bank accounts are frozen and she’s gone days without any cash. However, she did say there’s a guy in New York City she’s having sex with who she does, in fact, like.

Madonna and Angelina Jolie are said to be in a “battle” over who will direct a movie about the Chilean miners.

The true story of the 33 men who were trapped underground for 69 days this summer before being saved by an innovative rescue capsule on October 13 has been hailed as one of the most remarkable events of 2010.

As soon as the miners had been rescued and reunited with their families there was a buzz in Hollywood over who would direct a movie based on the tale, and it has now been claimed A-list stars Madonna and Angelina are both interested.

“Development has already started on the film and Angelina and Madonna are both desperate to be at the helm,” a source told British newspaper The Daily Star.

“This story touched viewers worldwide and the film is going to be colossal. It would establish either of them as a respected film director.”

Movie insiders have suggested the job may go to coveted director Steven Spielberg, 63, but 52-year-old Madonna and 35-year-old Angelina are set to compete with him. It is thought both women have the drive and determination to succeed.

“They are both passionate women who will do anything to get ahead in the movie world,” added the source.

Angelina is currently working on her directorial debut in Budapest, a controversial film set during the atrocities of the Bosnian war.

Meanwhile, Madonna has already directed several movies. Her first was 2008 comedy Filth and Wisdom, about three flatmates living crazy lives in London.

Madonna looks to be on the brink of adopting her third African child as rumours emerge that she’s planning a trip to the African country to visit an orphanage.

The Material Girl already has two adopted children but it has been reported that she has been in contact with an orphanage in the African country about bringing another little one back to live with her in the UK.

According to reports, her second adopted tot, Mercy Grace, five, is desperate for a younger brother or sister to play with.

Madge is having a few reservations about expanding her family right now but still wants to do her bit for the orphanage where she adopted Mercy and David Banda, eight, from.

A source told Perez Hilton: ‘Madonna likes nothing more than rolling up her sleeves and shoving her paws down a blocked well. She likes to do her bit. When she adopted David she promised his dad she’d stay in touch and visit often.

‘While Mercy Grace is pleading for another little brother or sister, Madge is not sure she’s quite ready but she’s kept the door open and been in touch with the orphanage. She has big plans to raise money, including a possible charity concert next year.’

It is believed the 51-year-old is making the trip before Christmas. But will she return with another little nipper?

Madonna is not only a hit pop star, she’s a business. She ranked 10th on our most recent Celebrity 100 List with $58 million in earnings. She has starred in and produced movies. She has a line of children’s books. She’s launched her own clothing line (with her daughter Lourdes) and now Madonna is moving into the world of fitness.

The Material Girl has partnered with Mark Mastrov, the founder of 24 Hour Fitness gyms, to open a new line of fitness centers named Hard Candy after Madonna’s 2008 album.

The first gym will open in Mexico City in mid November and the singer herself is slated to visit on November 29th. According to a press release, the gym will be 30,000 square feet and feature “the very best in innovative training methods” with classes in things like Zumba, Latin Moves and specially-designed classes. (Voguing maybe?)

Also “the lavish locker rooms built with the finest materials will be a sanctuary for members.”

There are plans to open ten more gyms in places like Russia, Brazil, and Argentina but not the U.S. I contacted New Evolutions Ventures (Mastrov’s company) but have yet to hear back about why they are avoiding The States. It could be because the U.S. is currently saturated with gyms and some established chains are struggling. Bally Total Fitness, which competes with 24 Hour Fitness, has twice filed for bankruptcy.

The new partnership makes sense for Madonna who, at 52, seems to defy the aging process. The singer has always been associated with trends like yoga and Pilates and she has the arms to prove it.

But with only a few gyms opening worldwide, don’t expect Madonna’s newest venture to contribute much to her earnings come next year’s Celebrity 100 list. She’ll still make most of her money from touring. In 2009 her shows brought in $6 million per night and there are rumors a new tour is in the works for next year. She’s also got an ad campaign with Dolce & Gabbana.

She has never made much of a secret of her attempts to stop the ageing process.

But Madonna looked like she was trying to turn back the clock as she stepped out for dinner in London last night wearing a hair style preferred by little girls.

The singer wore her blonde hair in pigtails to dine at Locanda Locatelli in Mayfair.

The 52-year-old’s childish ‘do looked a little ridiculous compared to her otherwise stylish outfit.

She wrapped up in an on-trend black shearling coat, black suit trousers and a purple scarf for her meal at the upmarket eatery, where mains average £28.

Perhaps Madonna’s look is an attempt to keep up with her new toy boy, back-up dancer Brahim Zaibat.

After speculation that the Vogue singer had ended her two-year relationship with 24-year-old Brazilian model Jesus Luz, she was photographed leaving a cinema in New York with Zaibat.

The pair are thought to have been dating for the past ‘few months.’

A source told gossip website X17Online.com: ‘They’ve been seeing each other for a few months but really keeping it on the down low.

‘Madonna did not want this getting out before she had time to see if things were really going to work out between her and Brahim or not.

Madonna has been spotted getting close to a younger man, and it’s not her boy toy lover Jesus Luz.

The Material Girl, 52, was allegedly seen kissing her choreographer, Brahim Rachiki, 33, at a nightclub last week in New York.

The superstar has been in a relationship with Brazilian model Luz , 24, who she met at a photo shoot for W magazine in December 2008.

They began dating shortly after her divorce from director Guy Ritchie, 42, was finalised.

But a source has alleged that Madonna was making out at hot spot SL with dancer Rachiki, who choreographed her recent Sticky & Sweet tour.

The singer and Rachiki, who is 19 years her junior, were reportedly seen passionately kissing each other in front of other clubgoers.

A source said: ‘They came in together and were holding hands in a private area. Madonna got up and was dancing for an hour straight before going back to her man.’

‘They immediately started making out in front of other guests.’

Rachiki is well known in the music business.

In addition to working with Madonna, he also choreographed for Michael Jackson and collaborated on the King of Pop’s concert and movie, This Is It!

Madonna has been known to fancy younger men. Her ex-husband, Guy Ritchie, is 41.
