‘MILES AWAY” is the best song from the Hard Candy album. The song is bittersweet and sad, but also realistic and makes you think about long distance relationships. One day you realize you are not longer happy with a relationship like that, and it takes time to accept it.
Madonna’s voice is beautifull and the beats and lyrics of this song will stay with you all day long….Good choice…Cant wait for the video….
Good choice of a single! Now I hope she will give this song a good video. The video for Give it 2 me was a disappointment.

‘Beat Goes On’ is chosen for the 4th Single as it is for me the catchiest song on
the Album by far….. another worthy candidate for single would be ‘heartbeat’.
Miles Away is a great song! “Devil Wouldn’t Recognize You” is also a good song too.I hope Warner will choose it as a single too!

I love the song but it will suffer a worse fate than Give it to me. The song does not fit most top 40 urban playlist. The beat goes on would have been a much better choice and would be picked up by most major radio markets. I work in the radio industry and my program director would simply skip on miles away.
I like “Miles Away” very much, however, my absolute favorite song on the album is “Heartbeat”. It’s such a good dance song. I hope that becomes a single. Warner is doing a crappy job of promoting, IMO.
I believe Miles Away will do great in Europe and it might do well in the USA if given the chance because it will add to the speculation about Madonna’s marriage to Guy Ritchie.which for better or worse will cause the media to pay attention to the song
I would like to see her #1 in the US charts and to do that she must make her new song the third one as much as her sexiness in “ Give it 2 me ” with using her Beauty and her special ways of Dancing ,Performing and clipping “ 4 Minutes ” on the ” Beat goes on “.
I see as many people see how “ Kanye West ” turn and burn up all the Charts in the World with his song “ Stronger ” and now with his duo song in “ American Boy ” I can’t switch any music channels without seeing him.
So I want our girl to take that advantage to her side, she already has a duo song with him So use it………… I feel like she’ll hit #1 in every where…….
And I know her Album don’t sell very well in USA.. But now :

And I love “ Miles away ” but she must keep her to the last. Madonna need to use everything to let “ Hard Candy ” works : She must :
1- Realize a 5 songs instead of 4 songs as the situation on { Music, American Life and Confessions on a Dancefloor }
2- She must use her Tour to sense the fans feeling about witch songs they react with on the Dancefloor and not just about loving hearing the song in the Radio or Recorder. ” Hard Candy ” is Made for Dancing so she must use the right song to achieve that.
3- I love ” Devil Wouldn’t Recognize You ” So much so so so much but in this situation of the down of the selling she needs to realize ” Dance 2 Night ” to keep her lucky cart ” Justin Timperlake ” on her hand .
So 2008 will be 3 songs and early of 2009 will be 2, and then it will be a good time to her to make her succeed as in Single songs selling rather than an Album. That Album will be rising in selling to reach to hit the Platinum ( 1x P in US ) during of her perfuming in her up coming tour ” Sticky and Sweet “.

I agree with katie — Heartbeat seems to me to be the most hit potential listing on the album. I just hope that Radio will somehow pick miles away up — However we all know how the american radio rotation is. Its a shame too, Just like MTV is a shame— Madonna help build these industries and now she gets screwed and ignored. The American Way I Guess….
i like miles away , for me is a good choice for a single , but what had happened with “give it to me” on the charts ,it debuted on may on the billboard 100 , but then dissapear , the physical single release is in august 5 , do you think it will re – enter the chart?
I like Beat Goes On, Heartbeat and Devil better than Miles Away. All four have more AC radio appeal than Give It 2 Me. I thing it was hoped that Give It 2 Me would take off on Top 40 stations. It was a good second single.
Yes, a good song when you think of Hard Candy as a whole: not Madonna´s best cookie. However, Devil wouldn´t recognize you would be interesting too. And how about She´s not me? I thought it was a catchy song.
And for the record: why would they think that Give it to me would be a hit? Far away from reality, ain´t it?

give it 2 me is far better than 4 minutes, but due to lack of promotion it will never be as huge as 4 minutes. so put aside give it 2 me its done with it. no matter what song from HC is next released as a single it wont be any better than give it 2 me if madge doesnt make a huge promotion of it. all the song are great and every one of them can be #1. cause today isnt like 20 years ago. today there are to many artists, to many music styles in the main stream so its not easy to be #1. i also think that poor promotion of HC in Us is the reason for its low sales. Pharell it self said that HC is one of the best albums released in the past decade( i share his opinion) but people need to see that. its mariah’s E=MC2 is better than HC to be more succefull in US, musicaly & lirycaly is degradeting and retarded but people are fooled to bye it cause of mariah’s exelent promotion of her new record in US. HC is far more better than that mariah’s so called “album”. BUT NEED TO SEE THAT

Beat Goes On and She’s Not Me are the best two songs on the album. Miles Away would be an attempt to bring back all of her ballad fans. Needless to say, I’m not one who enjoys the ballads. I’ll be glad for her to get away from Warner Bros. It’s a shame they no longer wish to promote her music in a supportive way. Long Live Madonna.
I do like this song but I don’t think it’s single material and think they should continue with releasing the dance stuff. I think Beat Goes On should be the next single.

I think nearly every track on the disc could be released as a single save a couple. This disc is her best work ever. That being said, I would be mortified if “Heartbeat” was chosen as a single. It has a superb chorus but I hate the opening and the “booty get down” break in the middle. There are many better choices as a single, “Miles Away” and “Beat Goes On” are probably the best 2 choices (even though “She’s Not Me” and “Incredible” are the 2 best tracks on the record, they’re not as radio friendly as “Beat Goes On” and “Miles Away”). She might want to reconsider the order of the release, “Give it 2 Me” was not the smash everyone hoped it would be, “Beat Goes On” is probably a better choice as a 3rd single. Or release “Miles Away” simultaneously as Adult Contemporary.
I think “Heartbeat” would be a stupid release as a single, it’s not a good song at all, the worst on the record. “She’s Not Me” is the undeniable highlight of the record, it could be edited as a single but radio only plays Chris Brown and Rihanna and a myriad of ignorant ghetto thugs. If a track as outstanding as “She’s Not Me” can’t make it on radio, I don’t know what to say. “Beat Goes On” and “Miles Away” are probably the next best tracks on the record, much better than the 1st 2 singles and excellent choices for singles 3 and 4.

I love Madonna, but I also think her current videos are not up to her video standards. She
needs to have some absolute kick ass story videos to back up these songs to
put her back in the top ten. I truly believe a talked about video is the best commercial for
songs. Miles Away would be terrific but only if a truly good video could support it. No
concert footage or dancing clips. A long form, innovative video, which in the past has
been her strong point. I believe that this is partially to blame late of for her lack of
commercial success in America. 4 Minutes was not bad and see what that did!

2 years ago Madonna churned out a video for ” Get 2gether ” . . . it wasn’t bad, uhem, but could have done a way better job. To me it was a song wiv strong potential and definately in need of a high profile video, not some cuts of her promo gigs and few psychedelic LSD rainbows . . . though it wasn’t too bad . . . .

from teh first time i played Hard Candy, i loved Miles Away. i agree with it as a 3rd single. but it needs a lot of promotion.. there are lots of new so called ‘artist’ around to comepet with. Warner Bros didn’t promote Give It To Me good. even the video was crap. and now guess what, i read on a fan site, that warner are not going to shoot a music video for Miles Away. it’s insane. if there will be no music video, the song will not do well in charts. just like the masterpiece ‘Nothing Fails’ & ‘Paradise’ did. hope the Queen will shoot a music video for Miles Away. but i’m scared that there will be no video. Warner are not promoting Madonna as they used to do before. glad that she’s leaving them.
The trick is to keep resquesting the song at US radio. Do it over and over and over.

the other trick is to download that song as soon as it is available and it just could jumb to number #1 . . . , uhem

But not sure if she could achive that with ” Miles away ” . . . and no video . . . not even a live one…..
But since she is touring through the USA currently it could alter all that? Maybe ” Hard Candy ” gets a sales boost and advertizes ” miles away” indirectly ??
Oh and there her divorce as well . . . Big media publicity that could catapult her back into the mainstream charts too!! Let’s see ….

i am reading that the single is actually NOT released at US radio. The cover art to the single with not one stamp or passport from the US supports that theory. Who knows…. she’s kicking some serious butt in ticket sales. Why not take advantage of that?!

We have to support Madonna’s newest single – Miles Away. It was just released on iTunes in the US this week so please go buy the single download and help get her on the US Billboard charts. This is where she charts the poorest so we need to keep her on top by doing our part. Buy each remix as a download instead of the whole remix maxi-single package because from what I’ve heard each seperate download counts as one vote. Lets help add another Top 10 hit to Madonna’s record… would be even better to see her at #1 again!!

She should not release a 4th single. Don’t get me wrong, I love Madonna but any further singles she releases from Hard Candy will not chart in USA. Maybe in Europe, but not here. There is really no other strong single left on Hard Candy to release. She would just end up loosing money for the making of the video and promotion of the song. Sorry guys and gals. She needs to release a totally BRAND NEW song to be released with her greatest hits album thats coming out later this year, and it needs to be a powerful ballard like “I remember” or “Playground”.
